Why volunteer at SRC?

We have come to learn through many testimonials that volunteers fill a crucial and meaningful role in the continuum of care seniors receive from our agency. Our volunteers often serve as the one consistent companion during the aging process, when seniors are often surrounded by swarms of care providers that come and go. Our volunteers have literally saved the lives of isolated seniors who have little or no family or social support available to monitor their condition over time.

Aging is a process that touches us all and does not discriminate. For seniors who have limited and low incomes, volunteers are often the only solution to the problems associated with aging – simply because they cannot afford other options. When you serve in a situation such as this, there is no question about the value and meaning of your service.

When you volunteer with Seniors’ Resource Center, you are helping seniors maintain their dignity during a process that so often strips them of their independence and self-worth. Our goal is to keep seniors in the place they call home as safely and independently as possible. Volunteer with Seniors’ Resource Center and help a senior fill their home with pride, dignity, and grace.

We are thrilled that you found us! Are you interested in providing that helping hand to a senior in our community? Take a look at some of our opportunities below, and follow these simple steps to learn more about becoming an SRC volunteer.

  • Step 1: Give us a call, 303-235-6941. We want you to learn about us, and we want to learn about you – this is much easier in a conversation as opposed to an email. Volunteering is like buying a pair of shoes and we want to ensure the right fit. We don’t need to measure your feet, but we do want to ensure that we find a placement that serves you and our seniors well.
  • Step 2: Come in for an interview. This gives us a chance to discuss specific opportunities as well as take care of all necessary paperwork . When you call (Step 1), we can schedule a time for you to come in  to see the facilities and meet our staff.
  • Step 3: Attend an orientation and complete the associated training for your volunteer opportunity. This step will be discussed during your interview.
