RE: Corona Virus as of March 12, 2020
Dear SRC participants,
As you are aware the coronavirus is a topic of concern for many. Rest assured, we are continuing to closely monitor the coronavirus progression and take appropriate action to ensure the safety of our staff, participants and community.
Please know that we are ready and prepared for emergencies and unexpected events, and we have detailed plans in place that prioritize the health and wellness of our participants. Since SRC’s Programs care for vulnerable populations such as older adults, and individuals with developmental disabilities, we have specific policies and procedures in place to address the health and safety of participants and staff.
We are continuing to provide services to our participants using enhanced health and safety precautions, as outlined below.
We have added additional steps to increase our protective measures:
- Service will not be provided to individuals who have any reason to believe they or someone they are in contact with have:
- Fever, cough, cold symptoms or respiratory issues
- Have reason to suspect they have been in contact with the virus
- Please note, you will not be permitted to resume services until cleared by physician
- Additionally, for Adult day participants, all outings and daytrips have been canceled. We have also canceled large events such as Care Partner dinner and Friday Café.
It is important for you to know our staff are trained in infectious control procedures. We follow the CDC’s guidelines regarding universal precautions. Additionally, all staff are receiving enhanced universal precautions training.
In addition to our increased vigilance of universal precautions, we have increased our already thorough cleaning and disinfecting schedule. The following surfaces are cleaned with disinfectant multiple times per day, for example: door handles, tables, chairs, vehicles, personal work stations, and community areas.
We continue to enforce our illness policy, which states that participants should not be receiving direct services if they are running a fever, vomiting, diarrhea, have a green or yellow nasal discharge, or are excessively sneezing and/or coughing. If you are not feeling well, stay home or let your service provider know that they should not come to your house.
If a participant becomes ill while attending one of our programs, they will need to be picked up in within the hour by family members.
We are here to support you. Please reach out to the staff and/ or supervisor of the program you utilize if you have any questions.
Please remember to utilize our closure line for updated information regarding services: 303-235-6916
I want to thank you for your understanding and grace during this difficult time.
