For most of us, independence means the freedom of hopping in the car and going where you want to go when you want. For some frail and older adults in our community, that freedom is a thing of the past. Imagine if you could no longer drive whenever you wanted to wherever you needed to be.

Senior Resource Center (SRC)’s senior transportation program was created to address this need and the need is growing by leaps and bounds.  Through a combination of paid and volunteer drivers, SRC provides driver assisted transportation at no charge to those elderly who can no longer drive.

Making it possible to age at home

Everyone wants to at age at home as long as possible. Sometimes all it takes is a little help getting a ride.

Making a difference

Often these rides are crucial. Senior transportation isn’t just a convenience, but a necessity.

“We are so very thankful for Seniors’ Resource Center.  We lost our care when my SRC Bus Riderhusband had his first three strokes and a heart attack.  He has since had two more strokes.  We are so grateful for your rides to help him stay at home so I can care for him.  Your drivers are all such good, kind people.”

“Your program has been a lifesaver.  I have a lot of doctor appointments and I don’t know what I would do without you.”

Would you like to help make a difference? We are always looking for reliable, compassionate drivers – full-time, part-time, paid and volunteer.  Whether as a paid driver, a volunteer using an SRC vehicle or a volunteer using your own car to fill in for a few crucial rides a month, you will make a tremendous difference.
