Celebrate your aging loved ones with SRC!

OAM

May is Older Americans Month and every year since 1963 May has been the month to appreciate and celebrate the vitality and aspirations of older adults and their contributions to our communities.

This year Older Americans Month is focusing on injury prevention with the theme Safe Today. Healthy Tomorrow.

Our community’s older population is at a much higher risk of unintentional injury and even death than the rest of the population. Unintentional injuries to this population result in at least 6 million medically treated injuries and more than 30,000 deaths every year.

This year, think about what you can do to help promote Safety and Health. Let’s work together to raise awareness about this critical issue, promote education and help our older Americans stay positive, active, and looking forward.

On May 6th at 8:00 a.m. we attended the reading of the Older American’s Month Proclamation at the Jefferson County Courthouse.
