Everyone needs a little Christmas

A little holiday cheer can go a long way for the elderly.  Every year, the Adult Day Center at Seniors’ Resource Center (SRC) decorates and puts together holiday themed celebrations throughout December.  Holidays can be particularly hard on those who have lost loved ones, like many of the folks at the day center.  For those suffering from dementia, holiday celebrations can provide a familiar pleasant experience and bring back past happy memories.

One of SRC’s annual traditions has been to set up a visit with Santa for local children. The enthusiasm and energy of children adds so much to the day center and provides everyone with a chance to experience the holidays as children do.

SRC was honored to have this experience spread even further when 9News joined us for the celebration.  You can check out their story here.

Your Hub of The Denver Post also published our release, which you can see here.
