Picture this: ladies and gentlemen laughing as they dance and chat over snacks. More than 50 clients, family members, staff and guests gathered to celebrate SRC’s one year anniversary of our new building. The gala was Adult Day’s way to celebrate and everyone was dressed to impress!
It was a memorable afternoon put together by staff at SRC, who also joined in and danced. Accordion music was provided by Hans Sinkovec. Erin Tafoya from the Aveda Salon was there to do hair and make-up for the ladies. All the ladies were the “Bell of the ball!” The food was not only delicious but visitors ranted and raved about Chef John Selters culinary masterpiece.
Staff member Doug Maben, danced with Becky spinning her ever so gently in her wheelchair. She smiled and giggled the entire time. It was a delight to watch and an early celebration for her 97th birthday! President/CEO John Zabawa cut the rug with sweet Wilma, who fondly recalls “dancing with the handsome CEO.”
SRC also took a moment to honor National Adult Day Week. The third complete week of September is set aside to raise awareness for the availability and accessibility of adult day programs
nationwide. This year it was September 16-22 and sponsored by The National Adult Day Services Association. More than 5,000 adult day centers nationwide celebrated “Adult Day Services: Care Compassion Community.” SRC was glad to take part in it.

The staff did a wonderful job and guests really enjoyed the Fall Ball. It turned out to be a great event for the seniors; who sure know how to have a good time!
