We had a wonderful time celebrating the opening of the Starr Center Art Exhibit at the Lakewood Library on July 10. The exhibit showcases the community’s talent and spirit and we are so excited to be a part.
The work of our Starr Center’s artists are the first exhibit in the rotating showcase. The artists, young adults with developmental disabilities, create amazingly beautiful works. The Starr Center provides a warm and encouraging place for these adults to develop social skills, friendships and independence. Creating art is an integral part of the program.
We were honored to be joined by Padma Polepeddi, Branch Manager of Lakewood Library, who gave a few opening remarks, as well as Amrita Comer, Starr Center Site Supervisor, John Zabawa, CEO & President of SRC and members of SRC’s Board of Directors.
The art show will change every three months, so make sure you to stop by regularly and catch the spirit of our community.
Starr Center art will be on exhibit through August 31, during any hours the library is open. Please come down and see all of the beautiful art work from the participants at the Starr Center.
